While opening QuickBooks, you may see the Opening QuickBooks window appear but Quickbooks does not open.
The following troubleshooting steps are for the Windows operating system, which is not an Intuit product. The steps can become complex if errors occur while repairing or uninstalling .NET Framework. If you are not comfortable doing these steps on your own, Intuit recommends you consult with your computer's manufacturer or other computer professional.
Intuit recommends more than one solution for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try all of them to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown.
If you have this problem while opening QuickBooks 2013 or Enterprise Solutions 13.0:
If this does not resolve the issue in 2013, or if working with a version older than QuickBooks 2013 proceed below.
Solution 1: Restart your computer.
Solution 2: Run reboot.bat.
Solution 3: Rename the QBWUSER.INI.
Solution 4: Rename the EntitlementDataStore.ecml file. Note: You may have to re-register QuickBooks after renaming this file.
Solution 5: Run the QuickBooks Component Repair Tool to repair damaged Microsoft components.
Solution 6: See MSXML errors installing QuickBooks.
Solution 7: Perform a Clean Install.
