Install QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 13.0

This article guides you through the installation of QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 13.0.

If you do not have your installation CD, you can download the QuickBooks installation files.

Detailed Instructions
  1. Start the Installation Wizard:
  • From a CD: Insert the QuickBooks CD into the CD or DVD drive.
Note: If the installation does not start automatically:
 
a. Right-click the Windows Start button and select Explore.
b. Find your CD or DVD drive in the left pane of the window and click it once to view the contents of the CD.
c. Double-click the file named Setup.exe in the right pane of the window to begin the installation.
  • From a download: Double-click the downloaded installation file; it will have an .exe file extension.
  1. Click "Yes to All" when prompted to overwrite the existing files when the installer extracts the files.

  2. Click Next to begin the installation.

  1. Read the terms of the Software License Agreement. If you agree, select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next

  1. Select the Custom and Network options for this computer:
  • I'll be using QuickBooks on this computer. Choose this option if you are installing on a computer (workstation) where QuickBooks will be used, but the company file will be stored on a different computer .
  • I'll be using QuickBooks on this computer, AND I'll be storing our company file here so it can be shared over our network. Choose this option if this computer will be used for QuickBooks or for accessing QuickBooks through Remote Desktop connections, and it will locally store the company file that can be shared with others.
  • I will NOT be using QuickBooks on this computer. I will be storing our company file here so it can be shared over network. (A license is not required for this option.) Choose this option if no one will be using QuickBooks on this computer but you plan on using the computer as a file server to share the company file over the network with 1 or more workstations that have QuickBooks installed on them.
  1. Click Next when you have made your selection.

Note: By default the Custom and Network Options window will have in brackets the current settings used for your previous version of QuickBooks (if any). That is, if you had QuickBooks installed on this computer, including the QuickBooks Database Server Manager, the second option (I'll be using QuickBooks on this computer, AND I'll be storing our company file here so it can be shared over our network) [Current Setting] will appear to the right of the option.

If this is the first time QuickBooks will be installed on this computer, you will not have any reference to a current setting.

Examples of these installation types are found in the Help topic when you click the Explain these options in detail link. 

  1. Enter the License and Product numbers in the appropriate fields

Note: These numbers appear on the yellow sticker that comes with your product or an email if you purchase the download. If you have previously registered your product, click the I can't find these numbers link at the bottom of the screen to go online and enter your contact information. Click the Submit button to search our system.

  1. Here you have the ability to change the location where QuickBooks is installed by clicking Browse.

    Note: The Replace the version selected below with the version I'm installing now option is only available if the QuickBooks installer detects a previous installation of QuickBooks. That is, if you currently have a previous version of QuickBooks installed and you are upgrading to QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 13.0, you will have the option as it appears in the image.

  1. You're almost done. Click Install to continue, or click Back if you need to go back and review any of the prior screens.
Note: If you would like shortcuts to services we offer and support options, be sure to select Add service and support shortcuts before clicking Install

  1. You will see this message when the installation has completed:

By default, the checkboxes Open QuickBooks and Help me get started will be selected. Modify these options if you like, then click Finish.
