Error: QBXML components not installed, during a financial exchange

When attempting a financial exchange, you see the following error:

QBXML components not installed
Why this is happening

Some files installed with your QuickBooks Financial software are missing or damaged.

How to fix it

Intuit recommends the following 3 solutions for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to both.

1. Update QuickBooks and Point of Sale
 
Ensure to update QuickBooks and Point of Sale to the latest release.
Note: After the update completes, restart your computer and reopen both software; or you may have to close and reopen QuickBooks to be prompted to install the update.
 

2. Rename QuickBooks .TLG files and try again

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Right-click the Windows Start button and choose Open Windows Explorer.
  3. In the left window, navigate to the following location:
      C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files\
  4. Locate for files ending in .TLG. Right-click each .tlg file and rename to "FILENAME".XXX.
    Note: For more information on .TLG files, read About Transaction log (.tlg) files.
  5. In Point of Sale, try the financial exchange again.
3. Uninstall and Reinstall QuickBooks
